Ashbury Avengers - Super Learning Powers

To support our children in becoming responsible, compassionate, persevering and thriving learners, we teach them about key learning behaviours. These key learning behaviours focus on concentration, curiosity, making connections, being resilient and being resourceful and independent. By teaching these learning behaviours we aim for children:

  • To approach difficulties in learning without fear of failure
  • To develop confidence
  • To develop understanding of learning processes

These learning powers are embedded on a daily basis, in order that they really do complement and enhance our teaching and learning and improve outcomes for all children. Each classroom has superheroes displayed, and they will be referred to during lessons. As well as this, children will be rewarded for demonstrating their learning powers through use of stickers, recognition boards and receiving certificates in our weekly Celebration Worship. Developing these learning powers will also help children work towards the Primary Character and Citizenship Awards.

These learning powers can be developed at home as well as in school, and regular updates will be shared in Newsletters.
