Olympics at Ashbury

Torch bearer  Child with torch

This term we have been learning a lot about different aspects of the Olympics and we have been taking part in lots of different Olympic events.  We were lucky enough to have a visit from Becci Berry, one of the official Olympic torch bearers.  She spoke to us about her experience carrying the Olympic flame and we were all able to touch and hold the torch.  It was really exciting!

We also took part in our own Olympic torch relay, receiving and passing a "school partnership" torch to other schools in our community.  We all got to take part in welcoming the torch or being one of the torch bearers around the school.

We were also proud to have some of our Olympic artwork exhibited at Faringdon Community College.
