At Ashbury CE Primary School, we endeavour to teach our children a rich and progressive curriculum. We believe that developing a child's ability to calculate, to reason and to solve problems are important life skills.
We will give children real-life learning experiences and opportunities to enables them to be confident in all aspects of life; with this in mind, we endeavour to ensure that children develop a healthy and enthusiastic attitude, and a deep understanding, that will stay with them for life.
Our children will thrive upon conquering the challenges and puzzles that mathematics will bring and not be afraid to make mistakes
Our aim is for children to leave as confident, skilled and resilient mathematicians; who understand that mathematics is a fundamental part of everyday life in our ever changing world.
At Ashbury CE Primary School we use the White Rose Scheme of work. There is clear progression across all year groups, from Reception to Year 6. During lessons children can achieve through progression of teaching and tasks. Children work at their own level and progress through Do it, Use it, Own it and Explore it tasks developing their knowledge and skills.
