Ashbury Primary School

"We Care"

Academy Student Council Meeting January 2017

On the 31st January, Ashbury school council went to FCC to take part in an Academy Student Council Meeting. We went on a coach with other schools, including Buckland and Longcot, Watchfield and Shrivenham.

The first thing we did was listen to a bit about the other schools. We told them about our ideas for a forest area, pyjama day for charity, Ashbury’s Got Talent, bring your parent to school day and the school budget. We heard about ideas in the other schools such as school photo album, friendship bench, play park, school trip and sports competitions.

A sixth form school council representative came around all the schools with a hat, we had to pick a number and split into different groups. On the table were many pieces of paper. We were asked to work together to make a “learn well” plate. It was a bit like a healthy eating plate but instead of how much you eat, it is how much you like a lesson.

Going to FCC was great because we all got to learn about the other schools.
